/sbin/tellbootie is a script which simply puts a string into a location in memory that is preserved across a reboot and can be read by the bootloader.

Valid arguments are: shutdown, reboot, recover, panic

'recover' is the same as holding the volume up key on boot - this is handy for causing a webOS doctor session from the Linux command-line without having to touch the device.
