Bottom Bar

How to edit the 5 icons in the 'bendy' swipe bar at the bottom of the Pre.

Detail:

  • At the bottom of the Palm Pre, under ANY application you can slide your finger up from the bottom and access 4 or 5 quick links. The factory defaults are Phone, Contacts, Calendar, and Launcher. The menu bar is also shown on the empty screen, and when minimizing any application using the single center button.
  • Comes configurable as shipped
  • Does NOT require root access

Add / Remove

Prepare

  1. Open the launcher, which is the uparrow button, so that you can see your available applications.

Remove From Bar

  • Tap but hold your finger down, dont' release, on any icon on the bottom bar.
  • Don't release 1-2 seconds until you see the HALO, the icon shows some yellow rings around it.
  • Slide the icon up ONTO the launcher application window.
  • Release
  • The bar supports a minimum of 1 icons (the launcher.)

This works for all the icons, except you cannot do it for the launcher icon (arrow icon) itself. The rest are fair game.

Add App Icons to Bar

  • Slide the icon down ONTO the bottom menu bar near the bottom of Pre screen.
  • Release

Rearrange Bar Icons

  • Tap and hold any icon until you see the halo.
  • Move left or right as needed
  • Then release finger - this drops the icon where needed.

Bendy Bar

Adjusting the Bendy Bar

  • From any application, you can 'slide up' your finger from the bottom to show the bendy bottom bar.
  • this bar is the SAME as the bottom bar
  • editing the bottom bar as above, also changes the bendy bar icons.
